The warrior who saves self

The real Full Moon
Yes that wonderful Full Moon has peaked, now what.  I am not sure about you, but for me this week leading up to the Full Moon has forced me to focus.  You see Full Moon time is not about werewolves and folklore.  What I believe it represents is a short time vortex where their is peak energy open to all of us and if we are deliberate, honest, and intentional we can truly craft our world into whatever we want.

The power that it is
What makes each of these Full Moons even more beneficial for us is when we know what planet rules while the moon enters into its fullest state.  Well, this cycle, although it is a Libra Moon Cycle, the sign that reigned when it entered fullness was Aries.  A quick side note - the full moon sign is always the zodiacal opposite of the lunar cycle sign, for instance Libra is opposite Aries.  So Aries, that strong, masculine, protective sign is ruled by the planet Mars.  Now when we think of Mars, yes the warrior image comes to mind, but how many of us know of the many ways a warrior can be viewed.  We are empowered when we know what kind of work to do and when to do it.  So let's make sure our individual trajectories are set to success.

Unexpected gifts
For the last three weeks I have been dealing with a muscular injury that at points has rendered me immobile and everyone who knows me knows immobility is not a part of my vocabulary.  But as with all things time, patience and care is healing my body, but the real blessing has been the spiritual health and awareness that has descended upon me like golden flecks of magical pixie dust.  After I stopped asking the how and why and started being still, many gifts were and are being revealed.  So for me this Full Moon is about seeing the unlimited possibilities that life has for me and relaxing into the loveliness that is my life, RIGHT NOW, with injury and all.  For if I can harness the magic in this moment and allow myself to be enveloped by a bit of mystery, well my eventual greatness is just a matter of time. Okay, I admit it, a bit more loquacious than usual about myself, but if my telling you more about me can inspire or even make you think, then it's all worth it.

Choose your greatness
Below are different ways to focus your energy over the next day and a half in order to make use of this enormously huge surge that we have right now.  I am listing the zodiac sign - Aries, its planetary ruler - Mars, and types of works that are successful during a Full Moon.  Choose one, choose all, make one up, but we must decide right now to take up our arms and save ourselves cause that is the essence of what a warriorr/ess is all about.

Oh my, my....war is an art?

Yes the symbol sitting here next to this text may be familiar to some and a complete blur to others.  This symbol in yoga is known as the warrior, thought it would be an appropriate image to go with our focus during this Aries Lunar Cycle; embracing our own warrior who will art of war our way through this cycle.

Aries, the first sign in the Zodiac pantheon, represents the infant that assertively demands and receives all that it needs and a lot of what it wants.  Become that youngling that boldly steps into the role of pioneer, charting your destiny like the adventurous souls of the Old West.  Now there may be those of us who either think they are or are not in touch with their inner warrior.  To all of us I say let's really restructure how, when, where, and why our warrior even emerges.  Perhaps we pop off at things that are unimportant and then slump down into quiet nothingness when we should be upholding some worthwhile.  The basic point of all this is truly CHECK your warrior energy, is it being utilized in the most effective ways that will edify your life path---pointblank!  Doing this for most of us (me included) will be a big step into that UNKNOWN we all know and love.  And? If we have come this far we might as well keep on stepping forward.

Okay, I was talking BIG JUNK, but the only way we contort, morph, and evolve is when we force ourselves to do it.  Rarely does metamorphosis occur without change.  And given that the planet Mars is the ruler of Aries time, we will have at our disposal some pretty large energy bursts.  No wonder Spring is full of new everything.

I am tasking myself with doing exactly what I am to do for me---NO EXCUSES.  I am the mistress of making miracles come just at the last minute, but hey, what if I am not at my wits end when a breakthrough comes? Yeah, that's a thought.  I am here to art of war myself into being my biggest worker bee.  As productive as I am for everything else in my life, I am purposely taking all that mojo and applying it to myself.  Doin' it, doin' it, and doin' it well -- for me (for my 90's song junkies, LOL).

The Child & the Warrior

The Warrior and me 
Even as I sit to write this, I am in amazement at the Warrior that is me, that is you, that is us.  In a time when we are often misguided into what bravery, courage and protection means I am here to tell you the Warrior Self does have a place, just nowhere near what we see everyday.

Mars rushes in
Okay, so at approximately 10:37am (EST) today, Mar. 22, 2012, the moon saunters into Aries and we begin again; another Lunar Cycle commences.  Aries, the total representation of the infant in all of us holds so much love, hope, and promise for us all.  Aries, seen as the Warrior is ruled by the planet Mars.  Another symbol we hear much misinterpreted information about. 

Turn that power around on you
Instead of flatly seeing Mars as a time to charge in all situations, let us step back and think about all of this one good time.  First, Warrior energy is totally up to design by its wielder.  Warrior can mean clearing of obstacles and a reinforcement of personal energy.  In plain language, instead of fighting or pillaging those outside of ourselves, we can internalize the power available to us and make change of a totally different kind when Mars rules the Moon.  Sound like a plan?  Hope so! So be about self direction this cycle.  Make it about you. And not you in a totally self involved, but rather self evolved way.  Lastly, and the reason I am so excited about all of this is that all of this is done in the most subtle of ways.  So, no large pronouncements or declarations, just be about the business of doing what you need to do.  That's all there is to it.

Subtlety speaking to the Self
Okay, so here is what I am working on this cycle.  I have put my emphasis on leadership in all aspects of my life and with the energy of Mars available to me I want to be that subtle Warrioress for Self.  So, not loud or brash, but definitely bold, brazen, and bountiful.  I am really putting one foot in front of the other on this one.  I have no desired destination other than more connected to self and farther along this path I am walking.  This works for me during the New Moon as I can count on the ability to Ground like no other time during the cycle. We will see...
