The moving moon
Amidst all of the rain and clouds that are upon portions of the sky today I want us to take a moment to realize and honor the moments we inhabit.  We have moved into another lunar cycle, this time Libra. And whilst we grow each day closer to a full moon, there is so much we gain with each angle of growth of the moon. At this very moment we are moving up towards the fullness of a gibbous moon and that means more than once a day we should feel shifts.

A true love
What does a Libra lunar cycle present? Well there is the usual opportunities to break unworthiness, cultivate beauty and attract many things into our lives. But perhaps the even greater gift is that Libra is ruled by the most loving planet of Venus.  And all my Venetians know that this planet is Goddess Supreme of compassion, creation, love and abundance. Let us see the big picture during this portion of the cycle not just the flashy surface possibilities.

Head on collision
With the time we have to build in the next 10 days or so I suggest we make nice with our most uncomfortable spaces. Be brave and brazen by leaning directly into that which is a bit off putting. For only in this coarseness can we find spiritual gifts and personal evolution. Just like the oyster, only beauty will spring from this nacreous process. As we do this play down the negativity that comes along for it is just a mere distraction. On the other side of all discomfort lies beauty. Take the chance and grow your own pearl/s this cycle.

See it and say
My path from this moment til the full moon will be about claiming my discomfort. Looking her in the face and saying. "I am more than my discomfort." Seeing and knowing my discomfort is very different than speaking and naming my discomfort. In order for me to truly benefit from this waxing moon time, I must name and say what I consider ugly. Once it is stated then it can be transformed, but not a moment before.

Stake your claim

One of the most important things I have learned around doing lunar work is that being intentional and making an effort to do the work (no matter how formal) brings the greatest leaps in my spiritual development. So, claim what you will do during this time.  Take the steps for you and only you. Be it writing in a journal, doing a meditation on your own discomfort, or gathering a small group of like minded folks to focus on these concepts. The more you do, the more you know to do. Fall is here
As the days shorten and the nights grow longer all of us see the musings and machinations of Autumn.  I suggest we harbor this magical time of year that is like no other.  Although the sun shines brightly in summer, the sparseness of winter wonders, and the newness of spring is a spark, fall is a time of great harvest and therefore a space for us to leap forward more than any other time during our year, at least I think so :)

Resistance is futile
I have had some personal resistance to actually posting this time, but as usual great resistance is always due to a message that is so timely and needed.  So, to this fall I say to us all be open to the true harmony that is available.  Harmony? Balance? What am I speaking of, well, ponder on these following thoughts.

To be or not to be Harmony
Harmony has always seemed to me like that see saw fluctuation that could be swung in either direction at almost anytime.  I can't say I have been a real fan or a success at reaching it either.  I, like most of you, have felt like I was either doing too much or too little. Or perhaps you have had some major set back and thought, okay, after this it will all be good when I do ____.  Yeah, neither of these scenarios ever seem to equal harmony.  I could go on, but I think we all know what I am talking about.

True Harmony is...
After receiving this message back to back I realized spirit was speaking softly and starting to raise her voice.  So I acquiesced and began writing.  Harmony is a choice we make each and everyday.  At the core of Harmony is acceptance of self, at this exact moment.  Not tomorrow or when you are a certain size, or even when your bank account has a certain balance. Right now!  And when we embrace Harmony, truly and completely, we are taking many steps on our paths to greatness. 

There will be work
Now don't get it twisted, Harmony does require work and is an active concept, but for each of us that first baby step of saying "I am okay just as a I am" is huge. And just think if we possess this energy and go out into the world and spread it, what a difference we can make.  So, dust off that courage, love up on who you are, and spread those arms and hug (metaphorically and literally) yourself, cause that is what will truly bring Harmony actively into your daily life.

The real Full Moon
Yes that wonderful Full Moon has peaked, now what.  I am not sure about you, but for me this week leading up to the Full Moon has forced me to focus.  You see Full Moon time is not about werewolves and folklore.  What I believe it represents is a short time vortex where their is peak energy open to all of us and if we are deliberate, honest, and intentional we can truly craft our world into whatever we want.

The power that it is
What makes each of these Full Moons even more beneficial for us is when we know what planet rules while the moon enters into its fullest state.  Well, this cycle, although it is a Libra Moon Cycle, the sign that reigned when it entered fullness was Aries.  A quick side note - the full moon sign is always the zodiacal opposite of the lunar cycle sign, for instance Libra is opposite Aries.  So Aries, that strong, masculine, protective sign is ruled by the planet Mars.  Now when we think of Mars, yes the warrior image comes to mind, but how many of us know of the many ways a warrior can be viewed.  We are empowered when we know what kind of work to do and when to do it.  So let's make sure our individual trajectories are set to success.

Unexpected gifts
For the last three weeks I have been dealing with a muscular injury that at points has rendered me immobile and everyone who knows me knows immobility is not a part of my vocabulary.  But as with all things time, patience and care is healing my body, but the real blessing has been the spiritual health and awareness that has descended upon me like golden flecks of magical pixie dust.  After I stopped asking the how and why and started being still, many gifts were and are being revealed.  So for me this Full Moon is about seeing the unlimited possibilities that life has for me and relaxing into the loveliness that is my life, RIGHT NOW, with injury and all.  For if I can harness the magic in this moment and allow myself to be enveloped by a bit of mystery, well my eventual greatness is just a matter of time. Okay, I admit it, a bit more loquacious than usual about myself, but if my telling you more about me can inspire or even make you think, then it's all worth it.

It's love, It's love, It's love.......OH IT"S LIBRA

Autumn has settled into our days, our nights, our weather and our spirits, whether we know it or not. With Autumn comes many changes and right this moment the moon has moved into the sign of Libra, that great equalizer, that great lover, and that great bringer of justice. At this time when the moon is dark or new it is time to clear, reset, commitment and charge ourselves. See the universe is so benevolent that each cycle we get to do it all over again from scratch. New scoreboard, new opportunity for success, a new set of information.

In a time of year when the earth is harvesting and preparing for the coming hibernation I too am doing my works daily, sometimes hour to hour in order to gleen the fruits of my labor soon. For those who read my blog last week many lessons have come up but the main one has been discipline. I know of all things to say, right. Well, I need reminders of this and the commitment that I have to myself, others and this planet that I be my best self because my best self is available to me. So, as mediocre as I would like to be and as complacent as I would like to venture towards, I can not. I will not. I must not. Wanna know why? Because I know better. I've experienced better. Basically, I am better. And, SO ARE YOU! Roads leading to self induced evolution are never easy or simple, but they are the best paths in life for us and they just make journeying so much more interesting in our lifetimes.

Do it because there is love

This waning time finds us close to retrogrades (mercury and mars), a solstice, and the oncoming holiday seasons worldwide. So, what shall we do with all of this shifting? Well, with a Libra influence, which is Venus ruled, I say love it, love it all. That's right, take the good with the bad with indifferent. Mix it all up, throw away that which you do not need. Remember, waning time of the moon phase is for reflecting on what work has been done this cycle as well as releasing that which is no longer for us. And I must say, Venus type energy during releasing is a good omen. It does not mean that it will be all cute and cuddly, all day long, but it does set the stage for us to receive nurturing, support and an overall feeling of love during this process. We just have to be quick enough to tap that energy when in need.

As I skirt my way to the next new moon I am going to do all that I can to preserve my artistic vision. During those times when I am the most unsure of my art, its direction, and my role in it, I will sit still, know that Venus is love and say, YES IT IS. Without doubt my artistic path is there with purpose, I must walk it no matter how I feel at each moment. Having said all of this I know I am invoking in the universe a certain type of energy and I ask for your help in staying rooted in this fact.

As we move along into another cycle, this New Lunar cycle in Libra and ruled by sweet Venus is bountiful in every way possible. First off, we are at another beginning, the new moon. We get to set intentions, work on our goal setting and get a DO OVER. So, what better time for DO OVER's than during a period ruled by Venus, a planet known for her sweetness, her pleasure, her sheer joy. So be sure to gently harness this positively forward thinking energy and move forward, whether it be by baby steps or giant leaps.

Another reason to see the beauty in bounty is we are almost at the time of autumn and harvest, a time on the planet that is marked by many festivals, celebrations, and customs that say thank you for the things that have sustained us this far in the year. So, yet again another truly powerful demarcated opportunity to lay it on the line for yourself. What will be reaped; what should stay in the ground for one more lunar cycle; what may need to be focused on by another incarnation of yourself? Decide, delve, and delineate.

My new moon intention is asking myself to look for only things that will help elevate my recognition and upliftment of beauty's bounty in my life. What are the things that make my journey beautiful, from the inside out? Also, what are things that are unrelated to that bounty I am tapping? In essence...take stock of bounty supporters and bouny detractors and rectify anything that is out of balance. It's just that plain and simpe.

This beautiful spring morning has been gifted to me as I sit mere meters from the lake that drenched and cleansed the city of New Orleans. Even now as I type I have tears in my eyes, mainly because I can feel the fullness of the moon and the blessings she has in store for me. The work is well worth it. It is all I can say, in brief form. This full moon is full of Love (which may explain the welling tears that almost just fell), since Libra (the sign of this full moon) is vivaciously ruled by Venus the Queen of Love, Beauty and Pleasure. So take this time to be open to all things that bring you pleasure. Venus is such a portal for us to re-connect with that wonderfully beautiful portion of our soul that is always there, no matter how much she may be shaded by our day to day existences.

Personally, I am looking to expand my capacity for abundance and the prosperity that follows it. I do possess the medicine to accept abundance, but when things begin to look bleak, I flinch, I will admit it. So now, I challenge myself to be steadfast, rooted, and an internal holder of the abundance that the universe has for me. I know I have the means to achieve this, I must put it out there and watch success unfold.

This full moon has already showed it’s head to be a time when emphasis should be on those hidden things you just... can’t... quite grasp. The dawning of the moon’s fullness and the season change intersecting, is not an accident or a game. Use the natural earth energy that exists in this time of change to really just let go and do the things you always wanted to, but were afraid to. Throw yourself back fearlessly, knowing that spirit is the ultimate catcher. Yes, its spring, everything looks new, fresh, go on out, intake all that is there with every one of your senses. You there with me, in the beauty of lighter colors and warmer nights, well, remember we are still in that depth pushing cycle of Pisces, so, know that with all of this new-ness and sunshine, watch out for things that you may be trying to suppress, they might have a way of popping up on ya, because Pisces is just like that.

This full moon my focus will be attraction and not the connotative version, but rather that more intentional portion of attraction, you know where we bring (attract) what it is we may see as ourselves or further yet what it is we may need at the time. How do I consciously or unconsciously attract things, people, and events into my life and why? I know big questions, but there are answers, why else the question? A message I got from meditation that might be helpful is that we can heal more when we first sure up ourselves (making sure we ourselves are healed) then ask for more in order to give more. Hope that makes sense. My asking the bigger, more challenging questions, puts me on a different path than before, one that will allow me more healing, more understanding and eventually more assisting. This full moon is in Libra (Venus ruled), a very balanced and fair sign, full of order and harmony. Call upon that harmony when those murky waters run to close for comfort, but trudge forward anyway, knowing whatever is on the other side is a benefit in some shape or form.
