Up, up in the sky the full moon is on high and this full moon brings such great boons, for the color blue imbues on you. These few words together express now the ecstatic feeling I have inside and out.  At approximately 6:42am EST we will officially be blessed with our Blue Moon or rather full moon.  A Blue Moon is simply put the second full moon in a single calendar month.  Although much lore and allegory comes from the Blue Moon very few of us harness this power and use it constructively.  Let's change that RIGHT NOW!

The cosmic keys
This Blue Moon in the summer of much unrest comes as a golden opportunity for us to collectively and individually move mountains. Dear Blue Moon peaks during the time of Aquarius, our truest friend. Aquarius makes room for supernatural power and bursting through the barriers we have accepted thus far in life.  With thoughts of cosmic energy and celestial bodies, this Aquarian time can be the game changer we need.

A father's gift
Now, having said all of that the real trigger for this Blue Moon lies in knowing that the power source behind Aquarius is the great and mysterious planet Uranus. Uranus, the archetypical Father Sky provides for us sight beyond the surface and allows for us to pull on inventive juices like no other time.  The concept of electricity and lighting things that are darkened is also another focus to take on during this Blue Moon.  What Aquarius has in store for us, Uranus will show us how to manifest it.

Simply dream
This Blue Moon for me is about entering the dream time voluntarily and listening. Seems simple right? Well there is consistency of entering dream time. Oh and yes the recording/writing of dream time messages. And lastly, the extension of these dream time lessons into my everyday. Although I know there are changes up ahead for me, I will only be as great as my connection to my dream time will allow. My charge has been set!

A final good bye
As we enter the home stretch of this cycle, the waning phase, I want to put us all on notice that we are not just entering the waning phase, but we are entering the final waning phase of this lunar year. That's right, we have almost come to the end of these thirteen moons and soon (like next week) we will enter another lunar year. So, there's no time like the present to do some serious and necessary weeding in our lives and in our spirits.

Recipe for release
While researching the phase it occurred to me that even before we make any changes we have to 1) pull up what truly needs to be discarded, 2) destroy whatever comes up, 3) extract it totally, and 4) plant what we would like in it's place. If this sounds familiar that's because this is essentially what farmers do and some of their tasks will begin soon as well.  Be intentional about weeding and planting yourself during this ending phase.  Although the work we do at this time may not seem to yield results, please know that all magic at this time is potent and will be amplified by the fact that this is the last waning phase in this lunar year. Go head, plant your future now.

Truly see
My waning phase is about seeing what has already been released. There are times when I will not recognize the process because the steps are not overt or obtuse, well this waning phase is about discarding that kind of thinking. My energy has to be about noticing, especially the miniscule.  Good-bye to my non-believer.

Dream your dreams
As the sun grows brighter in the northern hemisphere and we eek our way out of winter time we get a fabulous reminder of why we are only part of a greater whole.  The idealist and dreamy time of Aquarius is now upon us and it's just in time to save us from our own dark depths.  For those of us who feel like making our dreams come true is an uphill battle that's part of a long road there is a gift and this gift is one simple - Blessing.

Blessings calling
Aquarius is ruled by the planet Uranus and we can take that originality and stability in chaos energy and focus it just how we want it. I say let's bring into our reality the notion that blessings have and continue to be bestowed upon. Blessings that are as small as a bird singing a beautiful song or a blessing as large as moving one step closer to a life goal.  Both are recognition that yes our guides are hearing, and yes they give to us, but more importantly yes, our thoughts, our prayers, our wishes have been heard. Now to know we are heard and to have the exact moment when it may manifest is not quite the same thing. Someplace in all of that we have to exercise patience, gratitude and just plain ole common sense.  All things in good time is stated often cause it's true.

Wave my wand
This particular cycle for me is often like having a magic wand. I think it, I build on it, then POOF it manifests, almost with me doing very little of the work or at least that's what it seems like this time of the year.  Since this is the last lunar cycle before the Lunar New Year I think my jubilance springs from a place of, YAH, I have made it and WOW, there is more to come. Mainly I believe I am able to look back and reflect on the last 12 lunar cycles and know I have evolved, I have loved, I have been loved, I have experienced, and hopefully I have made a difference in lives and in nature.

A moon, a sign, and a planet all make it Super!

Supa Dupa Full
Just earlier today someone asked where was the moon and in what phase. I was happy to say it had just gone into Full Moon status, this afternoon.  And this isn't just any moon, this is another Super Moon.  Meaning the moon will seem larger and possibly closer to us and it's power will be even more prevalent in our lives.  So that means, forewarned is forearmed.  Now, onto where the planets are lined up during this Super Moon.

The age of...
The full moon this cycle is in Aquarius and although we have latent images of hippies, peace signs and lava lamps, this time is altogether something different.  The time of Aquarius can be marked by being open to remember dreams, pushing forward with all artistic endeavors, and possibly a heightened sense of idealism.  All of these pursuits can be fruitful, but I find that going to the source of the sign, it's ruling planet, makes for a much stronger outcome of works.  And so since Aquarius is ruled by the planet Uranus, our focus may need to be things quite different.

Don't misunderstand
Uranus, often misunderstood or unknown can represent that ethereal Father Sky energy.  Look to this planet when uncovering origins of things, seeking to ignite your inventiveness, using electricity of any type, and revealing inner (self) mysteries.  See, don't get nervous, there is benevolence when work like this has to be done, we must open ourselves and know that the intentions we put forth will manifest.  That knowing, way deep down, is often times half the battle.

Just let it go
For me this full moon is about the ritual of letting go of unwanted anger and resentment towards others.  Although this work has been weeks in the making I still found myself in tears because I realized the amount of energy, time and personal resources I had used and how much more liberated I was about to become.  Well, that and the fact that I am grateful to be at this stage in my life, with these tools.

A river running through us?

What has slithered in
Yes, there is a winding, curving, moving entity coming our way.  This being is not the traditional body of water you are probably thinking of.  The lasting loops coming our way is that of the Water Snake year as it will be delivered to us all on Sunday, February 10, 2013.  The sixth in the sign of the Chinese Zodiac, many great things are burgeoning.

The Serpent's blessings
The Snake (in the element of Water this time) will be a good time to get our finances in order, begin to really research endeavors that interest us and lastly make sure we find a safe space from which we can turn our greatest wishes into beaming realities.  Intuition, transmutation, and protection are forces that we will be able to capture this year.

The Age Aquarian
Because all of this happens when the Moon is in the sign of Aquarius, we must always remember our inner humanitarian, who will be our moral compass, our guiding light, our best friend to the end.  Often associated with New Age endeavors, commit this Lunar New Year to usher in your own personal Age that is New.  New in the sense that we can be brand new.  We can reach for our greatest selves and re-imagine, rejuvenate, and re-make the person we are.  We've got the next 13 moons to do it.

The entire cycle is for me
My purpose this Lunar New Year drives me towards a wholistic approach to transmutation.  Although I've attained it before I have struggled to maintain that deep understanding of life-death-rebirth.  Sometimes I just hold to the death and elongate the rebirth.  No more, I do have the power to change this reality and I am choosing just that.  For me the Water Snake will nourish me and strengthen me see the necessary steps on the trinity of creation, that being life-death-rebirth.

Enter the Water Dragon

A recent funeral of a colleague opened my ears wider to the whisper of Spirit saying "Walk your life's path".  So in that same vein I am looking to this coming Lunar New Year and saying - "Yes!".  Yes, to the highs.  Yes, to the lows.  Yes, to the mundane.  Yes, to the truly jubilant.  Yes to the everything that there is for me.  The next new moon cycle, which is the premiere of this Lunar New Year, or the next coming 13 new moons, gives us the greatest opportunity to intentionally charge ourselves and our lives with what we are going to be about.  It's about deliberateness, self-knowledge and self definition.  Make this the Lunar Year you decide all by yourself just who you were, who you are, and who you will be.  It's that trinity of awareness that will bring about great strides in our efforts to do our works here while we are blessed with the time.

Now, this Lunar Year falls during the time when Aquarius (which is Uranus ruled) is shining on the moon.  So yes that idealism, artistic, and dreamer energy is available for us to harness this ultimately positive vortex and strive forward for ourselves and the planet like never before. And what better usher to assist in that striving than the amazing Water Dragon, the animal that leads this Lunar Year in Chinese Astrology.

The Water Dragon, coming for the first time in 60 years will add such power to all the magic and medicine that we access.  All the things we want to soar at this year, call on the water dragon.  All the situations that have stumped us in the pass, call on the Water Dragon.  All those self identified limitations we want to break beyond, call on the Water Dragon. Basically anything that is a challenge or seems impossible, call on the Water Dragon.  And then, sit back and watch the unexpected or should I say expected unfold.

Totem Meditation for the Year

I move my magic or it moves me

Although the moon has stepped its way out of its full state, the power of what was just created will still be with us for a day or so or longer, depending on what we innervated during the full moon. So, let's recap! First off this full moon represents a mid point in this lunar year of the Hare. So now is an appropriate time to check back in, see if we are embracing or denying the intentions we may have set forth earlier in this year. Are we blocking or assisting in moving forward with our personal evolutions? Also, are we holding ourselves responsible or are we laying blame at the feet of other things or people. Really! We are powerful and intricate beings and we must not take for granted the gifts or paths we have in this lifetime.

As I am just stepping off my soapbox (LOL) I realized that I too need to understand the intense energy that is available to me which I have let sit by the wayside. Full Moon time is about ripeness, mid-pointing, a bit of reflection, use this time in this cycle and the entire lunar year to truthfully size up what's been going on. We should be looking back, restating our intentions, seeing where errors have been made and learning those lessons, hopefully for the last time. And how much more clemency can we be given than to do this during an Aquarius time, the sign of the true friend, the time when study, research, and intellect reign supreme. Even with its ruling planet being Uranus, curiosity and investigations are best done during this time. If we are challenged, like I know I frequently am, now would be a good time to ask Uranus for assistance on things unknown to us, whatever those things may be.

Personally, as I look back and see what this year is about, yeah, facing my fears and transmuting them, wow, tall orders and yes in some ways I believe I have been doing that, but in some other ways I have been playing it safe, now the kid gloves are coming off and I am into my second phase of the year of the Hare, so its now or never. Do or Die. I must embrace my true self and deal with each pain, delight, skepticism, fear, pleasure, joy, and unknown equally and faithfully knowing I am, I can, and I will. Really, I am not pulling punches with myself or with you. We have to do this, NOW!!

Converge, push forward, fight!! This Lunar New Year is a call to all of us. In this Year ruled by the Rabbit or the Hare, we are challenged to face fears in order to yield fruits. Hare, a symbol of great fertility and new life, can be a neon warning sign at times. If we are all unable to take courage and progress, just remember Hare is there to guide us. When we need to, we can ask ourselves am I using "what if"? And we must write down the things we think we are afraid of in order to usher those feelings in, only to over come them. Warriors get weepy, get tired, get scared, but they overcome these things in order to move forward and that is what we can thank dear Hare for. Having said all of that, let us not forget or be unmindful of the fact that this Lunar New Year falls in the sign of Aquarius, the great Friend. Aquarius is always wielded by the planet Uranus, which is the Master of surprises, so we can imagine the great highs and lows that might appear somewhat manic this time of the year. We have the tools we need to break unimaginable bonds and forge ahead. Now will this come easily? Of course not. Are there going to be times when we want to throw in the towel? You better know it! But, the gift of energy at this time of the Lunar Year is it is a fresh start, we can redesign, we can reset, so to speak.

I know I am excited about these moments, hours, and times ahead. My personal journey that begins again is embracing my personal fears, transmuting them, and remembering the valiant warrior I have within, that although she does slumber from time to time, she is an active agent for change in my life and the life of this universe. For the first fifteen days leading into this Lunar New Year I am going to charge myself with the task of detoxing my body, mind, and spirit and journaling about that experience, hopefully this sacred time will bring up messages and knowledge I would otherwise miss.

That’s right the moon is now waxing, meaning, it is building its light on the way to the full moon. And this time its in the fabulously friendly sign of Aquarius. A sign known for its strides in getting, being, and keeping friends.

Personally I am using this Aquarian energy to Empower my Expansions with each experience. Yes, its alliterative, but more importantly its merging of this waxing moon with my overall goals for this entire lunar this cycle.

I must say the planetary lineup really has my energy at a place of wonderment these days, but rather than running, hiding, or making drastic decisions, I am choosing to breathe, take things to the altar, and be open to accept whatever lies ahead.
