Last, not too late
The moon has moved into her full state. Today, the last day of the full moon period, let us reflect on what we can gain from this period. We are half way through this lunar cycle and we must chart where we are and where we are headed.

Moon hype
Myths and lore exist about the full moon but few indicate the power and climatic energy available at this time. In general a full moon is that time during the cycle when we check in or it can also be that time when we can reflect on intentions that were set during the new moon.

True focus
For me full moon time is a great place to get a snapshot of where I am, not where I think I am. At this time we can look for success in matters related to love, attraction, abundance, courage, and inner awakenings. These are not the only places to work during the full moon, but it is a starting point.

Issue be gone
During this time I suggest we embrace the concept of releasing that which has been the biggest challenge for us. Whether it be a personal flaw, a difficult relationship (of any kind), financial trouble, or blocked creativity, at this very moment we can drop that mic and walk away. And this time a walk away is not giving up, but rather giving in to the higher divine powers that can handle any and everything. Just think no more heartache, sleepless nights or stress. All of this talk of releasing that which plagues us is the complete opposite of how most of us are socialized, but I know with effort we all can embrace it. Let go in order to move on.

The first full moon
Happy Full Moon in Virgo. Today marks the first full day of this first full moon of our Year of the Red Fire Monkey.  True to form this full moon is something different which I suspect will happen most of this lunar new year.

Things for a full moon
When the moon grows to her fullest point it is advisable for us to do our personal check ins. A bit of time to reflect, reorder and recommit to our intentions set for this lunar cycle just a few short weeks ago. 

 Prescription of being
With all the fanfare and motion that is associated with full moons (increased sexuality, werewolves, or fools even) the idea this particular full moon may seem antithetical. The message that was given for this full moon is for us to take our energy and set it on OURSELVES. Our progress lies in our ability to go within, draw upon the great power source and gently absorb. This process of absorption will heal us, make us stronger, help us love more and eventually evolve beyond where we are right now. 

You can be too
We gain traction when we turn our energies inward.  The largest leaps will come from emanation, that state of being, not doing. So, are you ready to be and not do? Well, start with quiet time, maybe add a bit of soothing sounds, then be there, present and without wandering of the mind. Doing just that will definitely take us more than just this full moon, but starting it will have the most amazing outcomes.

More of my being
My practice of emanation will revolve around a daily practice of quiet time, journaling, and listening.  Being actively present is a challenge for me, but i know with practice I can master it.  My hope is when I reach the next new lunar cycle I am more grounded in being!

Be who you be
You are so ready for being. Ask yourself the questions that you never had time to answer before.  Take time in your busy day to be and see how you fare.  Most importantly, get in there, jump in, and see where the beautiful road takes you. Dawn of a full moon
Not sure you feel it but we in the midst of the Gemini Full Moon and like the duplicitous sign of Gemini there are high and low points for us.  The moon became full yesterday morning EST and now we have heightened power at our disposal. We will see the best results if we formalize our works during this full moon, so incense, a candle, writing materials, guidance cards, crystals, and even herbs are all in order.  The more ritualized your efforts the better.

Power of two
A Gemini Full Moon is quite a treat and coming at this time of the year is just fortuitous, an early holiday gift.  Gemini, the sign that represents new-ness, employment opportunities, and mental health, is ruled by my personal ruling planet Mercury.  Now, hold up. For those of us whose lives were rocked by that last retrograde know that this full moon energy is the other side of the coin.

Headed for a detour
Mercury gifts us constantly with the ability to journey, communicate, dance through our lives and see trickery ahead, but one of the most precious gifts is change.  This is that amazing time in our lives when we face a choice and we (and only we) can make the decision about doing something differently.  Dearest Mercury opens the way for us to accept, embrace and embark on that CHANGE.  Change is not easy. Change can be uncomfortable. Change is often the unknown.   But mostly, change is the best things that are yet to happen to us.  Say yes, know change is needed and make that change.

For me, my task during this Gemini Full Moon has been about and will be about just being.  I stand here in my power, wield it responsibly, and know that my medicine is for me first and foremost.  My change is about knowing all things around me that I adore, admire, and accept are all connected to me.  I challenge myself to erase the lines of separation and know deep down inside that I have access to ALL.

Wrapped in the fullness
As this full moon wraps its essence around us let us bask in the gifts it can bestow upon us. More and more I choose to walk into the expansion of me and doing work during the full moon definitely aids in that endeavor.

Marking magic
The full moon lays at our feet energy, power and opportunity.  As I have stated before, when the full moon comes around make your own rituals more formalized; be it light candles, recite positive intentions to yourself, or just take time to meditate, mark this magical time and then wait for the results to show themselves for they will come.

Very Virgo like
This particular full moon is in the sign of Virgo, one I am personally affiliated with (it's the Astrological sign I was born under).  Virgo time is great for directing purpose, becoming more organized, and cleaning house.  I am focused this full moon  on intuition.  Yes, that deep down, in our guts feeling/s we get and sometimes talk ourselves out of.  Hearing that quiet inner voice is the universe speaking with and to you be grateful and pay attention.

Power behind Virgo
Virgo is only backed by its ruling sign Mercury.  Yes, that frenzy inducing planet when in retrograde can also be a great ally.  Likened to the benevolent Ganesh in Indian cosmology, Mercury is all about travel, communication and movement so we have at hand a simple equation.  Grab this Virgoan energy to make nice with our intuition and ride it til the wheels fall off, LOL.  Start small, trust your hunches and then cut and paste those successes with larger things in your life.  I know that's what I am going to do.

My journey this full moon is rooted in acknowledging exactly where I am and noticing instead of judging that place.  All of this sounds nice but, what does that look like in practice?  Well this full moon will teach me that and much more I am sure.  My particular place on this life journey was destined and is in divine order with who I am becoming and more importantly who I presently am.  When I notice (things about myself) I am able to pick up my soul's patterns, which will lead to even more life successes.

Making my way into the silence

Gemini Fullness
Although we are close to the Winter Solstice, the moon has a few more blessings to bestow upon us. Today we reach the fullness of the moon in the sign of Gemini.  YAH!!! We all made it, thank goddess, but how shall we use this energy?  The full moon is a proper check in time. Consider it a self assessment of sorts.  And this full moon is dubbed the "Cold" Full Moon according to the Farmer's Almanac and right now cooling down on things is a good thing.

Mercurial messaging to us all
When Gemini rules the skies, although we fashion it to be a "sprite" like time, the true ruler is the planet Mercury.  Yes, that's right Mercury, but not in retrograde, that's another kind of goodness.  Mercury the owner of communication, cross roads and transitions can be intense to wield sometimes, but it always keeps us on our toes, grants miracles unimagined and forces us to keep humor in our lives.  Be sure in these long cold nights and sometimes days of this full moon, open to Mercury's magic, you may be totally astounded. 

Actively silent
With many shifts occurring in my physical and spiritual life I am mandating that I absorb the silence.  Even as I slide on into the holiday season I must say I am looking forward to calm, quiet, and rest.  A challenge it will be (in my best yoda-speak), but one I know will benefit me.  Not talking or processing, just simply listening.

Formalize your way
A big tip I learned a while ago was that full moon work should be more structured and deliberate.  Whatever you feel is needed, be it candles, paper, talisman, or incense, make it so.  The more formal you make your work during the full moon the more likely the spirit realm is to hear your requests.  That and the more likely we are to move our own spirits towards our goals.

The time it goes down
Tomorrow at approximately 9:32am EST we will experience a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse, the last eclipse of this year.  And not to be out done, the moon becomes Full stage at 9:46am, minutes later.  Add all this up and we have total opportunity for anything from awesome power to sheer mayhem. 

And what of this eclipse
So first, what does that mean.  Well an eclipse  means that the three celestial bodies known as the Sun, the Earth, and the Moon are all in perfect alignment, which is a pretty rare event.  To line up the three sets of concepts below can really be a line of demarcation in our lives:

Sun-Creativity/Illumination
Moon-Feminine Power/Energy

Earth-Tangibility/Physicality

It's lovingly Lunar
The use of the terms Solar or Lunar before an eclipse has some to do with how they are aligned.  In a Lunar eclipse the Earth finds it's self between the Sun and a Full Moon.  Okay, hope you are still with me, LOL.  Another major difference for a Lunar eclipse is that all the work done is on your inner life meaning it's all internal transformations that can take place. So yes, more time for "our self", but this self time is such a line in the sand time.  I know I am looking forward to it to work out some personal changes I want that just have not been sticking at other times this year.  Below are questions that may add value to any work we do near or on (doing it as close to the time is a powerful step) this Lunar Eclipse.

What root causes have been stopping me?
 

Does anything in my past or ancestral past have a hold on me?

Do I have a good relationship with Karma?

What life patterns am I looking to hit the reset button on?

*Note-It is good to allow at least 2 weeks to really see manifestation in our daily lives of anything we work on during an eclipse.  Remember we are a constant creation, there is no DONE point :)

Gemini breaks through after the eclipse 
Please remember that the Full Moon in Gemini does occur directly following the eclipse so take advantage of that energy as well.  You will have more time to do work because work can be done over the three day period that is the day before, day of, and day after the Full Moon.  So in case you can not mark the eclipse, mark the time when Gemini brings an opening for work on diversity, change, new ventures, scholarship, and research.  A breadth of options, but all sort of in a trajectory that is similar.
