This morning at approximately 1:22am we entered this Full Moon in Taurus. I'm not sure for you, but for me these last 24 hours have been intense and building minute by minute. Now that the moon has reached fullness I know I am exhaling much easier. Full moon time is a good check in time during the lunar cycle. A time of reflection, it is essential we disregard colloquial knowledge about the full moon and rather pull on this strong energy to see where we are, what we have accomplished and what we have yet to do. Three evenings in the sky the moon shows as full but the truth is what we don't see is so much more. Mark this full moon and you will be blueprinting the rest of your lunar cycle.

Venus not Taurus
This November's full moon is in Taurus (the opposite sign of the Libra lunar cycle we are within) and yes you probably think you know the earth based, strong willed, and forceful characteristics that may abound, but I say look beneath that understanding. Taurus, is only that which the planet Venus allows it to be. Venus (Taurus' ruling planet) is not only associated with beauty and love, but this sign is the domain of creativity, bounty, and manifesting ideas into reality. As usual what is best for us lies just beneath what is shiny.

Truth not fiction
I am charging myself to put just one foot in front of the other this full moon. I will be honest about fear, insecurity, and doubt, but only in order to release them. I will no longer entertain thoughts and internal dramas before I even take the next step. Meanwhile as I take each step I will be hopeful and grateful. A small and large task all at one time. I believe I am up to this. Here goes everything!

At approximately 3:29pm EST on May 6th the moon will begin yet another lunar cycle. This time we are all blessed with the beauty and stability of the zodiac sign Taurus. Known sometimes as the Bull in the China shop, work during this time can be on material wealth, new employment, generosity, and love, but all of these endeavors are only exalted when homage is paid to the planet Venus, the ruling planet of Taurus.

Venus, often misunderstood and underestimated, is an energy that exudes love, compassion, creativity, and gain. Yet most see only the surface of the power that is available when Venus rules the skies.  Just like many things these days Venus is taken out of context all too often to fit a certain purpose and you know what that leads to? This cycle is my show and prove cycle to myself. There have been many strides I have made and I sometimes don't stop enough to honor those achievements, the guides who have helped along the way, and the progress that I, MYSELF, have made.  This Taurus cycle will be about recognition, appreciation, and confidence. Taurus time
This morning we entered the Taurus lunar cycle. Welcome, we have lots to do and this is the PERFECT time to get it done.  Taurus, which is Venus ruled, is the best time to take on the triple P's: Perseverance, Patience, and Practicality.   This cycle should be about taking action, moving on our dreams, and putting in the necessary work to continue to evolve.  Since Taurus is an Earth Sign we need to find solace in grounding ourselves around what we will undertake.

A serpent's gift
Snakes. That's right the descendent of the mighty serpent.  In the image above what do you notice? Is it the color, the coiled body, the eyes or the skin?  And what feelings come to mind: fear, intrigue, excitement, or amazement? The snake/serpent is one of the most power symbols of the concept of Transmutation, something that is so timely during the Taurus lunar cycle.

Know the cycle
What is transmutation? Well, transmutation is the ability to intake something (negative or positive), ingest it, integrate it, and then change it into whatever you need at that time.  Simply explained yes but, much harder to put into practice.  With the power of this lunar cycle I challenge us to transmute the small things in our lives like traffic, tardiness, a spill on our clothes or the many other things that plague us daily.  Taurus is here to support and amplify our power to transmute. All we need to do is take that first, small step.  If we begin with the smaller things as the cycle progresses we can take on bigger more challenging occurrences in our lives in order to transmute as well. We have to start someplace and this is as benevolent a time as any.

My personal work this cycle will be around knowing exactly where I am in the transmutation cycle whether it be intake, ingestion, integration, or transmutation.  I do understand the concept and have reaped the great benefits of practicing it, but I need to continue doing it. And for me I can be more Macro aligned than Micro, so my use of transmutation with the little things will greatly improve some of my day to day mishaps.  I am ready, are you?

That's right. The twelve simple letters in the image beside this text is easy to understand, but much more difficult to absorb, emit and put into every action we take.  Appreciation, gratitude, thankfulness, awareness of what we have and grateful for it.  All of those and some more.  Do we have it? Do we show it? Have we checked it lately?

Why ask about it now, well why not.  We have before us over the next few hours some strong cosmic assistance to take our knowledge of and expression of appreciation to many next levels.  At approximately 2:04am EST the Annular Solar Eclipse occurs and then right after that at 2:14am EST the moon moves into the sign of Taurus, thus beginning another Lunar Cycle. 

When an eclipse occurs there is perfect alignment between the Sun, Moon, and Earth. In a solar eclipse the Moon falls in line between the Earth and the Sun and is a good time to focus on material circumstances such as location changes, self identity, or personal power.  Eclipses are gateways for great change and it's a time to use energy to discover the root causes of who we are.

Directly following the intense gateway of the Solar Eclipse is the New Moon in Taurus, one of the most benevolent of signs.  Taurus, often liked to the stubborn bull is anything but that.  In the time of Taurus much is being guided by its ruling planet Venus.  Venus, the planet of love, seeks to unite opposing portions of who we are.  Other domains ruled by Venus are love magic and manifesting the abstract into reality.  Definitely a planet that would look fondly upon our taking up the mantle of appreciation.

My personal focus during this blessed time is to boldly appreciate who and what I am, right now.  Not like I used to be years ago or what I may be in a few months.  I am focused on appreciating me and my blessings HERE AND NOW. And I have also begun to process exactly what appreciate means, to increase in value, and apply that to me.  I am only going to receive more good if I know and am grateful for the good I have before me.  Simple? Maybe, maybe not. I know I am so excited about embarking on this cycle of appreciation.

The dawn of a moon
At approximately 1:15pm EST today the moon went into Full and not sure if any of you feel it, but I certainly do.  I hope our conversation during this full moon is certainly insightful.

And it's name is
Well first what type of full moon is this? This month, November, the full moon is also called the Full Beaver Moon, according to the Farmer's Almanac, which for those of us familiar with animals and meaning that should make sense, if not then  check this link for more info http://bit.ly/HTuBKy.  So with all of this in mind, now we have to piece together the rest of the puzzle for ourselves.

Now it's November and although we have visions of apples, tasty gourd based dishes and pies galore the astrological cosmology is definitely playing a part.  This full moon falls in the sign of Taurus, which is usually represented by the Bull.  And yes Taurus is a time of abundance seeking, love magic, and employment opportunities, all of that must be shaken down, stirred together and mixed in with the planet that rules Taurus. And that planet is none other than Venus, the most benevolent of planets.  If you are a Taurus or even a Libra your feeling of the full moon may be more intense.

Venus, not just known as a planet of loveliness, for me represents such a ray of hope, new paths, and joyous living.  Mother Venus does not dwell in the mires of sorrow, squalor, and self pity so this full moon will be about business if you are trying to capture and harness her energy.  Accept the gifts she brings like a kiss on the forehead from an old auntie who has blessed you with sage advice. Take note though, often times we ask for things and then once we get them we are underwhelmed or unhappy, be sure you know the crafting and asking you are doing at this time for Venus does exactly as we ask.

Beware of my boundaries
My wish this full moon is to understand how I create and uphold my boundaries.  For me setting boundaries has been a journey and sometimes I have gotten it right and sometimes I have gotten it wrong.  Now, I'm working to see the nuts and bolts behind why my boundaries exist.  Also to see what motivates me over-giving or not giving enough.  For me it's a real assessment point for my relationship with boundaries.

What just blew in

As the rain and wind blows brilliantly outside my window, I am grateful, I am humbled, I am tasked.  This Full Moon has blown in like few before; this one is riding high on the wave of change, manifestation, and force.  Today's full moon meets us in the sign of Taurus, that ever loyal, ever progressive, ever loving enigma.  So fret not, these winds, rain, and chills are a nature-made line of demarcation for us.  Are we or aren't we?  We of course get to decide all the specifics, yet delaying is NOT an option anymore.

Taurus can take us there

Does all of this sound a bit hokey? Well let me put it to you like this.  Mother Nature never makes mistakes, nor does she miss her mark.  The fact that as the moon peaks in it's current lunation a heavy and powerful storm reaches our shores is no coincidence, it is a kismet, awe-inspiring turn of events that I believe we all shall soon not forget.  How can we use this you ask? Well, I say wash away all that needs cleansing.  Release all that has been hampering you down, no matter what it is, stand in the wind and the rain and toss it out.  Take that bold step you were just a bit too concerned to take yesterday.  Be brave, brazen, bold, and brash.  Nature shows us when we put enough force behind our intentions, the immovable will move.  Abudnance, Love, Employment these are all aspects that can be dramatically changed during this Taurus full moon by the power of the full moon and the extra dose of conjure we can expect to pick up from the storm.  So hop to it my loves, I know I am.

And speaking of me, if you've been a reader of the blog you know I like to myself on Front Street a bit.  Just to show folks, hey, I am in here trying to figure it all out just like you.  So my valiant focus will be on patience.  I must trust that nature's got my back in all that I do and I am going in the correct direction, albeit a bit slower than I may think it should be.  My efforts will always be rewarded, just as they should be, not as I think or even when I think, for that matter.  Ever patient, that is me!

On October 31st, I propose we all reflect on those that have come before us and what they contributions to our lives have been.  Yes children will dress up (well not sure in all of this wind and rain), candy will be eaten and lots of commercialized products will be purchased.  The day known as Halloween is often celebrated as Samhain, a day of remembering the departed.  The following day November 1st is also a day closely related, but differently celebrated Day of the Dead.  Regardless of the day and the way we celebrate, let us all allow our ancestors room into our daily lives to learn from their mistakes, get information we would have otherwise missed, and generally revel in the fact that those who came before us sacrificed to change the lives we all have.

So, where are we

So we come to that midpoint of a Lunar Cycle. Yep! We are at the Full Moon place yet again. For some of us this time has flown by like a supersonic jet, but for others of us its inched by like an old sea slug. Either way, we are here and we have such a beautiful moon up in the sky waiting for us to do good works over the next few days.

This Full Moon in Taurus

This particular Full Moon is in Taurus, that robust and grounded sign, but even more fascinating and to our benefit is the fact that Taurus is ruled by the Queen Supreme, Venus. Yes, this goddess of beauty, love, and prosperity is more than meets the eye. Take hold of Venus' spark of creativity and fertility to grow some untended part of yourself. Use the lovely and sensual aura that is available to turn all of that magical mojo right back on ourselves. So instead of looking for a love or get-rich-quick potion, how about we create some real, lasting self-centered, but also self-evolving energy for us and for the planet, which could use some good vibes these days.

Not sure where to begin? Not sure how to begin? One thing that should be noted about Full Moon time in general is that spirit work of any type that you choose to do should be more ritualized. And folks, ritualized in a way that feels comfortable to you. So maybe you write out what you want and place it on a dresser, or maybe you speak daily what you want to manifest, or further still, maybe you write yourself a note and mail it yourself to be opened at the end of the entire cycle. Whatever creative and energized steps you need to take to make this self learning more real, do it! Hey, what have you got to lose?


Personally I want Venus to

My own work this Full Moon will be centered around my understanding of what love is, what love I think I have, what love I want, and where do I get in my own way of understanding love. Now, love for me is such a huge concept, but it also can be the smallest of impressions. So I am looking to balance that understanding and also how to pull on it when I need it. Summed up, I am ready to understand, know, give, and receive love on a different scale. Will let yall know how it goes at the New Moon in a few weeks.

That's right, all of us who were trying so hard to make it through that Aries cycle, well now we have another chance. This time we will all be blessed with an overflow of many things, thanks to Taurus and the ruling planet of Venus.

Being someone born with bull like energy from Chinese Astrology, I am always so excited about this time of year when folks graduate, we celebrate mothers and it's just generally a good time to be outside. Don't take these gifts from Venus, by way of Taurus without knowing that to those whom much is given, much will be required. Taurus is a time for abundance (in all forms) and love work. Stay open to be anointed with an influx of creativity, realization of highest dreams, and the awesome power we have to attract.

For me I am charging myself with making rituals, large and small a part of the many moments that will exist in this cycle. I get up, ritualize it, I am unsure, ritualize it too. Basically I am putting my proverbial money where my mouth is. This cycle it's about hardcore work to access and flourish in the abundance and prosperity that is and always will be available to me.

Taking the Bull by her Horns....

This entering Lunar Cycle is setting its self up to be just about as powerful as they come. Let me set out the players and show you the endless possibilities. This Taurean (Taurus, the Bull) Lunar Cycle is of course ruled by the always love filled planet Venus, but to add to that let us remember that this Chinese Astro Year is the Year of the Bull (my year, YAH!!!), which is also twice as potent during this cycle. This year of the Bull is marked by leadership, strong ability to get things done, protection, reliability and never losing sight of a goal and the ability to be introspective even in crowds. So pay attention to all of those things, even if that isn’t you or at least you right now. The appearance of any of those or other Bull like qualities are all right on time.

Now, you are armed with those things and then we have VENUS. She is a loving, gracious giver who is really all about love. Love of self, love of others, love of nature, love of the entirety of who we are. Be open to fostering a love you have forgot. Love something or someone you thought you never would. Love that part of your self that makes you cringe when you think of it. And we are in that new moon portion of this cycle so be attentive to the beginnings of things. Allow yourself to create what your loving reality will be for this cycle, keeping in mind the tides of Taurus that will be twice as nice. Bull energy is here, you might as well benefit from it rather than be trampled by it.

For me, I am elated, because although this is my year, this is also my month, TO SHINE!!!! I am grounding myself in the love that I am, the love that I have, and the love that I am totally worthy of. With this extra dash of Bull this cycle I will not lose sight of this goal, something I gladly accept as a gift from the Chinese Zodiac reality. Hold me to this, because now that I have put this out there, yall know its gonna come right, left and center and challenge me, I am up to it because I have all of you.
