Just a beginning
In just a few hours (6:42am EST) the moon will enter a new lunation and yet again we will have all the opportunities in the world. The next 28.5 days present themselves to us like a gift from on high. What we do with those precious moments are completely up to us.

Just a sign
The next lunar cycle will be in the sign of Scorpio. This sign so often trivialized to heightened sexuality and strong passions has other great things to offer. Namely embracing the subtleties of life (something I am truly working to master), completing severance that is necessary to move forward, and journeying homeward to find a better understanding of self. By far the greatest thing Scorpio offers us is the opportunity to go deeper into the powers of Pluto, it's ruling planet.

Just a planet
Pluto's greatest offering to us is the ability to overcome almost anything. Be it death, disappointment, feeling cheated, or a downward spiral Pluto always presents the next new beginning. Although there are other signs that represent newness, none quite in the way Pluto does. Simply stated anything that occurs in your life can be reset. All we must do is know and properly utilize the energy Pluto holds. If you've had a threshold that has been alluding you think about making a step over it during this lunar cycle. Obstacles are made to be overcome.

Just a lens
My focus this lunar cycle is to have more personal recognition and awareness of the successes that surround me. Mine and other folk. During this lunar cycle I am practicing my Half Full lens in as many situations as I can. Pluto tells me that although things must die, they are only setting the stage for other things to come through next. For me it's really basic, in order for more to be available I must at this moment have nothing but gratitude for where I am.

Just my wants
The ball is totally in our courts. I say to you, be intentional and make magic for you and others around you this Scorpio cycle. Yes, we will be near family and friends this holiday season, but that's okay because as long as we have focus about what's important to us then what others say or do should not sway us or lead us astray. Take time in the next two days to really think about what it is you want from the Scorpio lunar cycle. Write it down, say it out loud to yourself, and even feel free to discuss it wth others. Fulfilling fullness

Full not fool

This morning at approximately 1:22am we entered this Full Moon in Taurus. I'm not sure for you, but for me these last 24 hours have been intense and building minute by minute. Now that the moon has reached fullness I know I am exhaling much easier. Full moon time is a good check in time during the lunar cycle. A time of reflection, it is essential we disregard colloquial knowledge about the full moon and rather pull on this strong energy to see where we are, what we have accomplished and what we have yet to do. Three evenings in the sky the moon shows as full but the truth is what we don't see is so much more. Mark this full moon and you will be blueprinting the rest of your lunar cycle.

Venus not Taurus
This November's full moon is in Taurus (the opposite sign of the Libra lunar cycle we are within) and yes you probably think you know the earth based, strong willed, and forceful characteristics that may abound, but I say look beneath that understanding. Taurus, is only that which the planet Venus allows it to be. Venus (Taurus' ruling planet) is not only associated with beauty and love, but this sign is the domain of creativity, bounty, and manifesting ideas into reality. As usual what is best for us lies just beneath what is shiny.

Truth not fiction
I am charging myself to put just one foot in front of the other this full moon. I will be honest about fear, insecurity, and doubt, but only in order to release them. I will no longer entertain thoughts and internal dramas before I even take the next step. Meanwhile as I take each step I will be hopeful and grateful. A small and large task all at one time. I believe I am up to this. Here goes everything!

Do and do

Yesterday, October 31st, through tomorrow, November 2nd, is a period known as Dia De Muertos or Day of the Dead. These few days are a chance each year for veneration of ancestors. In other words a celebration of our dead. 

Observe the Dead
A holiday with origins in Mexico's Aztec Empire, Dia de Muertos is now celebrated internationally. This time of year brings the opportunity to reflect, uplift, remember, and behold the lives and legacies of our ancestors.  Whether young or old all of our ancestors have lessons and subsequent spiritual power for us. Take time to honor them and you will find blessings bestowed upon you in return.

Listen to the Dead
My personal Day of the Dead has already begun. I have purchased a marigold plant in honor of my maternal grandmother and I am offering flowers and incense to all of my ancestors. Later this evening I will sit in mediation and hear the lessons they have for me this year. Although I do my best to walk and talk to my ancestors on a regular basis I am always most excited about this time of the year. For me it is the nudge I need to recognize that my dead never really do die. 

Remember the Dead
Below are suggestions of ways to remember your loved ones from now til November 2nd and beyond. We don't need this day to know that our ancestors walk with us and live in our daily lives, but making the effort yields so much goodness and light in our lives. Do not be convinced ancestor veneration is a part of darkness it is not. Saying to the world my people came to this world and they matter is about as light filled as it can be. Don't just reclaim our time in days like these but RECLAIM OURSELVES. And for those out there with recent ancestors or even those that may be close to the veil of life and death, decide for yourself if celebrating is right for you. Only you will know if marking this day will bring you solace.

Dawning of a new moon
This morning at approx 7:32am EST the moon entered the sign of Sagittarius and we have begun yet another lunar cycle.  So we all know what that means; RESET! We get a chance to do even more.  The new moon represents a time in the cycle when we are reflecting, setting intentions and beginning new endeavors.  Take full advantage of this time.  Slow it down, do less and listen more.   All of your guides have messages that you can really use this cycle, but at this, the starting point, we have to be open, be quiet, and be receptive.

The gift of being still
This Sagittarius cycle is cloaked in energy that on the surface seems to emulate Higher Guidance, Intuition, Travel, and Generosity. And yes, those things do exist, but with just a bit of probing we notice that Sagittarius is ruled by the planet Jupiter, which opens us up to an entire universe of possibilities.  Jupiter, the Ultimate Regal Father, lays at our feet an entire cauldron of blessings that all can manifest, if first we hear. One of the most important things Jupiter requires from us is patience.  All we need can and will be actualized if we can just sit still, know things are as they should be, and trust. I will take my seat
My personal path this cycle will be a challenge for I have some lifestyle changes that have to be made, but instead of "kirking" out I am going to use the Jupiter energy to fortify myself and revel in the stillness I am entering.  When all else fails for me this cycle (and with holidays and cold coming that is probably inevitable) I am going to be patient, stop all of my movement and just listen.

The moon has moved
As the moon has moved out of fullness and is starting to contract, even if just slightly, the Waning Phase is upon us.  Now many of us loose our steam during this last phase. I guess we think it's not enough time or even that any work done now is not effective: WRONG. This time, waning, can have some of the most powerful results in all of a lunar phase.

Sign and planet
As we wane it is in Gemini.  When Gemini rules the skies, although we fashion it to be a "sprite" like time, the true ruler is the planet Mercury.  Yes, that's right Mercury, but not in retrograde, that's another kind of goodness.  Mercury the owner of communication, cross roads and transitions can be intense to wield sometimes, but it always keeps us on our toes, grants miracles unimagined and forces us to keep humor in our lives. So let's humorously talk about what this waning phase has for us.

Did you not hear that?
This phase I want us to think about intuitive communication.  What is it? How do we use it? Are we even using it correctly? And lastly, how can we wield it during this waning phase.  First off, I propose intuitive communication to be the hearing of things that are unspoken.  It is a knowing of sorts.  So how can that be used? Use intuitive communication to receive answers, messages, and information that will help you and subsequently others.  Whether or not it is being used correctly is for you to decide.  Ask yourself, am I receiving the messages and if so what am I doing with them? All answers to these are within you, trust you will know the answers to your own questions.  Wielding intuitive communication while in the waning phase is hinged around knowing how to truly be silent at this time in order to know what it is you need to release.  And sometimes how to release it.  This quick prescriptive like formula for using your intuitive communication is a test sample.  I am tasking you with figuring out what intuitive communication is for you and how you plan to use it to release anything that is unwanted.

Daily silence
My personal release will be around daily taking time to hear the messages for me, preferably early in the morning.  Then as I acquire  messages I have to trust in them and allow them to shift my life, right before my very eyes.  And most of this will be done in silence.  A tall order? Maybe, maybe not.  I look forward to the challenge to make this a daily ritual for this waning time and possibly beyond.

The dawn of a moon
At approximately 1:15pm EST today the moon went into Full and not sure if any of you feel it, but I certainly do.  I hope our conversation during this full moon is certainly insightful.

And it's name is
Well first what type of full moon is this? This month, November, the full moon is also called the Full Beaver Moon, according to the Farmer's Almanac, which for those of us familiar with animals and meaning that should make sense, if not then  check this link for more info http://bit.ly/HTuBKy.  So with all of this in mind, now we have to piece together the rest of the puzzle for ourselves.

The bull lead by a lady
Now it's November and although we have visions of apples, tasty gourd based dishes and pies galore the astrological cosmology is definitely playing a part.  This full moon falls in the sign of Taurus, which is usually represented by the Bull.  And yes Taurus is a time of abundance seeking, love magic, and employment opportunities, all of that must be shaken down, stirred together and mixed in with the planet that rules Taurus. And that planet is none other than Venus, the most benevolent of planets.  If you are a Taurus or even a Libra your feeling of the full moon may be more intense.

Venus, not just known as a planet of loveliness, for me represents such a ray of hope, new paths, and joyous living.  Mother Venus does not dwell in the mires of sorrow, squalor, and self pity so this full moon will be about business if you are trying to capture and harness her energy.  Accept the gifts she brings like a kiss on the forehead from an old auntie who has blessed you with sage advice. Take note though, often times we ask for things and then once we get them we are underwhelmed or unhappy, be sure you know the crafting and asking you are doing at this time for Venus does exactly as we ask.

Beware of my boundaries
My wish this full moon is to understand how I create and uphold my boundaries.  For me setting boundaries has been a journey and sometimes I have gotten it right and sometimes I have gotten it wrong.  Now, I'm working to see the nuts and bolts behind why my boundaries exist.  Also to see what motivates me over-giving or not giving enough.  For me it's a real assessment point for my relationship with boundaries.

Make plans to succeed

Two at once
The spiritual "Wade in the Water" could not be more appropriate.  The constellations have been moving and flowing for us this very morning.  At approximately 7:46am we were graced with the presence of a Solar Eclipse and then at 7:49am the New Moon cycle began and all of this occurred in the sign of Scorpio.

A rare event
So now let's do a bit of deciphering and figuring.  The Solar Eclipse that occurred was a hybrid one, meaning it started out as an eclipse that made a ring for us to see but then transitioned into a full eclipse, making it a very rare event and the energy that an occurrence such as this presents is even more rare and special.  So let's get out ducks in a row. 

An eclipse defined
Overall Eclipse energy is stronger because it is alignment of three celestial bodies that affect us: the Sun, the Moon and the Earth.  The Solar Eclipse means the Moon is lined in between the Earth and the Sun.  An important property of a Solar Eclipse is it really can transform our material circumstances, such things as abundance, self identity, housing, employment, etc.  In order words all things that are focused outside ourselves.  Please note Eclipses always travel in pairs so this Solar one is the second part to the Lunar that occurred just a few weeks ago.

Where things dawn
Now, having said that large mouthful, the Eclipse and the New Moon all have occurred when the sign of Scorpio reigns in the sky and the planetary ruler of this sign is none other than Pluto.  Far from an amorphous Disney character, Pluto is the ultimate symbol of transformation.  Words such as transmutation, life-death-rebirth and other phoenix like terms are all attributed to the powerful Pluto.

Set the intention
This New Moon is such a blessing for we have a bona fide vortex of power and deep diving into the self.  So when planning what, how or where you will focus your energy this cycle I highly suggest you do as I intend to, Wading Deep in my personal Waters.  Yes, somehow I did bring it back to that spiritual, LOL.  Finding your focus may take a few days, that's okay, just be sure you are open to hearing what it is supposed to be, not what you thought it was gonna be, I know I must constantly be vigilant with myself about that difference.

Healing and creativity
Personally I have to dive deep into my ability to self heal and pull out not only my physical health but also my creative health.  I have, for the second half of this calendar year, felt a bit dampened when it comes to creativity for me.  So back to the self I go.  I know there are answers for me and I am prepared to unearth some not so comfortable emotions to get to the heart of the understanding that is for me.  So be it!  I know that this is one of the best times of year to actually touch my truths so honestly and effortlessly and for that I am grateful, hope you are too!

The time it goes down
Tomorrow at approximately 9:32am EST we will experience a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse, the last eclipse of this year.  And not to be out done, the moon becomes Full stage at 9:46am, minutes later.  Add all this up and we have total opportunity for anything from awesome power to sheer mayhem. 

And what of this eclipse
So first, what does that mean.  Well an eclipse  means that the three celestial bodies known as the Sun, the Earth, and the Moon are all in perfect alignment, which is a pretty rare event.  To line up the three sets of concepts below can really be a line of demarcation in our lives:

Earth-Tangibility/Physicality

It's lovingly Lunar
The use of the terms Solar or Lunar before an eclipse has some to do with how they are aligned.  In a Lunar eclipse the Earth finds it's self between the Sun and a Full Moon.  Okay, hope you are still with me, LOL.  Another major difference for a Lunar eclipse is that all the work done is on your inner life meaning it's all internal transformations that can take place. So yes, more time for "our self", but this self time is such a line in the sand time.  I know I am looking forward to it to work out some personal changes I want that just have not been sticking at other times this year.  Below are questions that may add value to any work we do near or on (doing it as close to the time is a powerful step) this Lunar Eclipse.

What root causes have been stopping me?
 

Does anything in my past or ancestral past have a hold on me?

Do I have a good relationship with Karma?

What life patterns am I looking to hit the reset button on?

*Note-It is good to allow at least 2 weeks to really see manifestation in our daily lives of anything we work on during an eclipse.  Remember we are a constant creation, there is no DONE point :)

Gemini breaks through after the eclipse 
Please remember that the Full Moon in Gemini does occur directly following the eclipse so take advantage of that energy as well.  You will have more time to do work because work can be done over the three day period that is the day before, day of, and day after the Full Moon.  So in case you can not mark the eclipse, mark the time when Gemini brings an opening for work on diversity, change, new ventures, scholarship, and research.  A breadth of options, but all sort of in a trajectory that is similar.

Push, pull, and prodding from Pluto

Often times I am quite amazed at how things turn out, you see I sometimes have my own ideas and then the universe takes over and what is to be occurs.  This blog post is testament to just that fact.  Already into this Scorpio Lunar Cycle I am being pushed to design new paradigms, something that at times can be quite difficult.  Out of the New Moon time the moon is Waxing which means this is perfect the time to build towards short term goals or objectives.  This Scorpion time can be flowered with thoughts of subtlety, severance, and a desire to journey towards the true self.  Hold tight to those thoughts, they are significant, but more prevalent and overriding is the Pluto energy that rules the sign of Scorpio.

Yes, it is that time again to think of rebirth and times of complete alteration.  Now do any of us really want to dwell on these concepts? Maybe not, but I tell you what when these come into play in our lives and we do nothing, only chaos and turmoil follow.  Bad decisions, hurt feelings, lost energy, and all around ickiness will abound.  Basically, at this point we are either moving closer or farther away from our actualized selves and only we each know which way the weather vane is blowing.  Our days and nights may be cooler, but it is my wish that all of us are warming to the idea of moving towards who we really are.  Guess what, either we do or we don't, it's simply up to us.  Now for each of us these changes will be different, some may be large and others may happen in that still, quiet, inner place, regardless it all represents our conscious effort to evolve.

For me this Scorpio Cycle has been about achieving, measuring, and maintaining the balance I need in my life.  So my short term goal is to continue with that.  What I am trying to do is pay closer attention to the signs earlier in the game and intercepting possible snags or setbacks.  I am sure there is more to come but with conscious effort I can surely transform and rebirth the way I understand and balance's relevance to my personal evolution.  As lofty as these all sound trust and believe I get it right sometimes and wrong other times, but one thing is for sure, I am quickly becoming my biggest cheerleader and my compassion for self is ever expanding my humanity.  Okay this was so much more than I thought I would share, but you know how it is once you get started.

Just when you thought you were homefree...

 It's spun around again
A retrograding planet Mercury has appeared, for the last time this calendar year.  When Mercury retrogrades, all forms of communication are off kilter, to say the least. Snail mail, email, cell fone, home fone, speaking to others, speaking to yourself, and don't even think of signing a contract or wonder why negotiations are not going well. We can not put life off during the retrogrades, but forewarning will help ya navigate through it.

Here with us since November 6th (or up to a week before) and expected to stay til after Thanksgiving holiday here is some food for thought and a possible strategy to get the most out of this cosmically induced situation comedy in our lives.  So, this strategy, is it full proof--uhh no.  Will there be a trial and error period where you may want to bring all things to a halt, of course.  But will this strategy at least be a jumping off point for you to understand how energy is being warped and how to anticipate and almost plan for the unexpected, hopefully YES!

Part One: Self Completion
Often we place other things and people before all of our self related matters.  So if you are a parent, a caregiver, a teacher or a caring spouse, during this retrograde, devote time to you and only you.  A hard task, but since everyone else may misread your intentions and communications why not.  Complete that draft of a book, take yourself out to dinner or the movies, or hey, even start that scarp-book project on your college days you have been putting off.  Basically, work on anything that will help complete something that is only focused on you.

Part Two: Build Stronger Existing Bonds
Now, I am sure we all have said if we just had more hours in the day we would take some time out to spend with one of our siblings, or an elder family member, or a friend we haven't seen in upteen years.  Well when Mercury retrogrades, we all can benefit by spending time strengthening those relationships that need repair, need tending, need mending, or just plain ole attention.  Don't get so caught up in the how, identify those folks first and just simply ask for the right way to make those bonds that are meaningful in our lives even stronger.

This is one of my favorite techniques when dealing with Mercury when it retrogrades.  So since there are all kinds of things that can and will go awry, I sometimes sit in the mist of all the mayhem and say thank you.  Thank you for the sun, the moon, the stars, loved ones, breath, and life.  Somehow my gratitude injects some clemency from Mercury or some other place and my focus leaves what has messed up and begins to shift to all the blessings and gifts I have and will receive.  It's really all about perception and where we lay our energy. So as harvest dawns, say THANK YOU no matter what.

Part, Whole or Activation
Now I don't think that these three things will solve all of our Mercury related troubles, but I do hope one of them or even a mere part of one will trigger within all of us the overcoming power we humans definitely possess with every cell we have, it's just about the activation phase.  Hopefully this post will help us make great things happen.
