How interesting this calendar year comes to a close with the same sign, Capricorn. As I looked back over these last 12 lunar cycles, I realized that it was Capricorn that was our initial lunar cycle back in January. We are sooooo special that the universe provided us with a chance to see things in a Saturnian way twice, in this year!! Wow...is all I can say. So yes, we can take this opportunity to traditionally look at this closing of the 2008 calendar or we can choose this as a midpoint, a station break, an assessment point. Capricorn in all of its glory is a Saturn ruled planet, so somewhere at the base of all of this is simply, LESSONS. Yes, as if we need more of those. But, here is a take on that.

We are so astute, so revered, so gifted that our learning curve, spiritually, has jumped up a notch on us. As we flow with the growing new moon, see each detour, each rewrite, each do-over as the infinite love of the universe pouring itself into our lives. Now yes, that might seem all touchy feely, but Capricorn being an earth sign, where is the practicality off all of this? Do the removals, cleansings, breaks, and magic that is necessary to really, truly benefit at our maximum levels. Again, I say, our maximum levels, which undoubtedly will be different than someone else’s.

My focus this cycle will be on transmutation of many things I have inherited, but no longer have to carry. I seek to recognize these traits, understand the etiology of them, but no longer feel obligated to uphold them. As a part of this intention I know that this will break patterns that have been a strong part of my life, up until now. As one who carries serpent energy, transmutation is just a matter of concentration for me.

We are in this the waning of the moon. Do you feel it? I hope you do. The power of the waning moon rests in its ability to remove things from our lives we are willing to let go. I know, I have said this before, but I am here to tell you, I must constantly reiterate these things to myself. And while we are letting go of things we don't want, we're making room for things we do want.

Our waning phase this time is in Virgo, which is ruled by that ever playful, ever talking, ever bringing the balance: Mercury. While Virgo gifts us with organization, purpose and friendship, Mercury sprinkles onto our paths things like self knowledge in the trickiest of ways, an increase in our mental acuity, and a heightened Solar Plexus (our intuition). So know that tasks are coming our way, but be alert it will come in the funniest of ways. Just go with the flow and join in the laughter, its okay because at the end of it all there is evolution.

My own journeying this waning cycle is pyschic protection and not a paranoid, "they puttin' roots on me" kind of protection. But rather, really preparing myself to experience life with others without absorbing their energy, their path, their tasks. And ultimately develop more completely my safe inner space.

This entry is overdue on one calendar and right on time for another. As I walked yesterday and looked up at the crisp branches, without a leaf on them, I was reminded once again that bareness brings about amazing new growth. Let me say that again, bareness brings about amazing new growth. Alright, let’s put some perspective on that. In this the last few weeks of Autumn and as we approach the Winter Solstice, how appropriate that we ourselves have become those trees, stripped of many things that we just knew were true about ourselves. And, how this rawness makes us ready for a completely new self. In essence, as the Winter season brings back the light to the world, which is what the solstice represents, then we too should also focus on standing tall in what seems like darkness, accept all that we know of ourselves, then prepare for real changes in the coming weeks. And this is brought to us by the planetary giant, Jupiter, which rules fair Sagittarius. Sagittarius is a a time of determination, clarification and revelation. What better partners for us at the close of this cycle.

My personal focus is on being determined to be that new creation, calming into the darkness and knowing there are great gifts waiting for me and not the tangible gifts I can touch or see. I am committed to do what I need to do for me, boldly, singularly, and all the while understanding that I, just like the cycle of a tree, am in a process and I will not disturb that mechanism. In other words, getting in my way is not an option.

As we journey during this ever changing Autumn, let us pause to step inward. Are we ready to take that final step to the next level? Can it really be that time already to depart with who we are now? Do we understand the massiveness of all that is occurring around us? Those are for each of us to answer. Only thing I know is that we have are tippy toes pressed up against the edge of a Scorpio Lunar Cycle, which in the most surface of ways is an extra dash of passion. Subcutaneously, we are talking transforming that brings to mind the vehicles of the 1980’s cartoon Transformers. That’s right, taking what we have presently and making a whole brand new us. And what better planet to help us navigate then the illustrious Pluto. More than just a Disney character dog.

Pluto waits patiently and without judgment. We are calling the shots, the "Plutonian" energy is our tool. Decide. Step. Move. And any other active action verb you can think of. The best thing about Pluto is it brings about change, the worse thing about Pluto is it brings about change. So no half stepping or give backs. We have been gifted with an entire cycle to work through this energy so now at the beginning figure your focus and see it through to the end. Within this cycle is the family centered Thanksgiving, which I am sure will bring out some boxes for some of us to step out of (hopefully).

We have arrived once again to that magnificent, budding, spring of the lunar cycle. That’s right we are within the Waxing Phase. This time is full of windows and doors that both represent opportunities for us. As we do in early spring, step out into the somewhat misty dew and breath in full breaths, then proceed into this cycle, fully charged, fully aware and ready to receive.

As we are meander through this Libra led cycle let us stop to smell from the blossom of Capricorn and its ruler Saturn. Yes, the wise teacher has returned to bestow upon us another amazing lesson. Pay attention to the role we all play as teacher and student, knowing that each role is forever fused into us. As a teacher we can always learn from those we teach. And, as a student we have lessons for our teachers. This cyclical understanding makes for a more complete life experience.

My focus has been on understanding the meaning and totality of attraction, so during this cycle I want recognize and rectify any outstanding patterns whether they be of my own doing or something that may be a part of my ancestral blueprint. I challenge myself to pull unto me the true lessons that I need to move forward.

Blessings are all around us. I saw it just this morning in the prism on the tip of a blade of grass. And that beautiful light was what? A reflection. The beauty and loveliness that is life is a reflection of where we are currently. So in this New Moon time, during Libra, understand the role we play in acquiring that which we attract. Take stock of things in all facets of your life, then identify things that are not as you wish them to be and then just begin to attract something different. As the title tells you, its Reflection Time not Retraction Time. Use your divine energies to be what you are looking for, whether it be a lover, a new job, physical fitness, or a beacon of light. We have the power in every quark of our being. So, just the tap that power.

Yes!!! I know. Sounds like big orders, but guess who is right there with us? The sweetness of Venus, the ruler of Libra. Grace, peace, and gentleness can be with us all the while as we transform all situations into amazingly beautiful experiences. We are just at the beginning of a new cycle so I challenge each of us to focus our superbly capable powers towards being the reflection. No longer are we to wait to see what someone will give to us, how they will react to us, or even what their replies are. We are to step forward and shine our gorgeous light upon the world, even if its one small thing at a time.

My focus this entire lunar cycle will be on exploring the many dimensions of Attraction. What is it? What is it not? What do I need to be (uh, that reflection piece)? And more importantly, once I have embraced that ability what does the aftermath of attracting into my life look like. So, take five deep breaths, really ask for a task this cycle, then await miracles.

Well Mercury in Waning is nice we are doing it twice. That’s right this waning lunar phase is once again ruled by that most auspicious Planet Mercury, through the sign of Gemini. If you are feeling like things are spinning at the speed of light, yet getting anything done happens in slow motion, welcome to the crossroads my dear ones. That’s right the burgeoning retrograde, Autumnal Equinox and the waning phase all intersect at the able feet of dear Mercury.

So what does all of this mean, well, for starters, take small steps. Do not fear if things are slowed down in the next few weeks or so, that is a blessing in disguise. Use the time you have been gifted to empower yourself and subsequently this planet. The planet Mercury will enter retrograde in the next few day so, be aware of its energy. Take your cues from the inside and observe the art of communication, knowing full well at any minute that is can get all topsy-turvy and you know what, just deal with it. Laugh it off, learn from it, or rise above it. It’s not the end, by no means, its the beginning of a new you who can soar even when communication with everything has the potential to be skewed.

Now, the Autumnal Equinox, quite possibly one of my favorite times of the year is such an opportunity to do so many things. For starters it represents the balance between the day and night, that’s right the balance of masculine and feminine energy on the planet. Revel in that folks, this happens only twice a year. What a time to put down the struggle and embrace the peace that is ultimately available to us all. Finally, think balance on this day and it shall be yours, in all aspects of your life.

Of course both of these events or should I say doorways rest in the middle of the moon’s waning phase, a time that is more than the dawning of the phase, but also another chance to put forth all the things you have since learned this cycle. My own focus this waning will be to continue transforming my roots in order to truly heal, learn, and progress. Sounds simple right, HA!!!! It is right in my face, so I know its obtainable, but I say to you all, what you need is staring you right in your face, so much so you may be missing it. Focus on the obviously forgotten.

Welcome to the realm of the Dancer, that’s right, this Full Moon in the Virgo Cycle will be a reflection of all of our energy manifested in our flexibility, coordination, endurance, rhythm, and grace. This Piscean Full Moon is blessed by the planet Neptune, one that many of us run from, but eventually we face its lessons sooner or later. Neptune offers the greatest reward, knowledge. As the sun sets on this cycle...send away with it, what is not wanted

Time does fly...for sure. Its seems as if only a day or so ago I sat to hear the messages and lessons for this Leo Lunar Cycle. But, in reality, we are at the close of this cycle, the waning phase. Waning can be viewed as the time to think over what has been gained during this cycle and whatever can be discarded, let it go, RIGHT NOW!!! One note though, the only way something will depart us is if we want it to. Know what you want to let go of and then, do just that, LET IT GO. This waning cycle is in Gemini, and how appropriate that is or even precursor like because Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and the awaiting Virgo Lunar cycle that is a week away. So the energy you feel currently, get used to it because some strain of that will also be available in the next cycle.

Mercury urges so much from us, and often in ways we rarely see. As a person who was born under the sign of Mercury, all I can say is, don’t take yourself or your journey too seriously, if you do your feelings will be all hurt up. Mercury is a great time to focus on real personal balance. Are you where you should be? Are there things this waning time that you want to let go of? Have you balanced the physical, spiritual, financial, etc? One thing to remember about Mercury is that its energy can represent the “trickster”, so, ask knowing full well that the answer you get might not be what you anticipate. Also, incorporate that trickery into your everyday life, recognize it, utilize it and make friends with it, rather than being on the other end of it, mad as SH*T that things didn’t go exactly as you planned them. Mercurial times can be rip roaring and full of true humor or personal traumas in need of therapy. Its all how you look at them. As they say in sports, YOU MAKE THE CALL.

While I am waning I will really strive to forge this new relationship I am developing with my body. One that on days seem like its full of an eon of experiences and then other days I feel like a babe taking her first steps. One thing I know for sure is that this is a newness that I have called into being to enlighten me and the rest of us. Gratitude!!! Have it. We have made it!! And where you may ask? Through the first half of this Lunar Year. That’s right this Full Moon we are on the cusp of what represents more than the mid point in this cycle, its the midpoint in our year and interestingly enough it is a direct reflection of where we started, in the neighborhood of Aquarius. And just to throw some pizzazz into it for us, we have this Full Moon as a partial Lunar Eclipse (*). Meaning that this Full Moon is a portal to initiate great transformative power.

Chock full of energy. Right? Now, ask yourself, what does mid year mean for me? What things have I accomplished? What things do I have to continue to work towards? What derailments or splitting of paths have occurred? Evaluation is a necessary tool that can only improve who we are. Thankfully so, Aquarius possesses that day dreaming, idealistic, anything is possible, eccentric kind of ashe. So take advantage of being in this midyear point with such a ubiquitous lineup of realities. Say yes to the mid year point. Say yes to the Aquarius and Uranus energy. Say yes to the full moon energy. Say yes to yourself and all that you can and will manifest during this period between the full and new moons.

My own work this Full Moon will center around not seeing my upcoming Earth Day as an ending of sorts, but a new beginning. A beginning that will allow me to keep ascending, growing, loving, and experiencing. And a beginning that accepts no lack, resists negativity, and revels in the power that is available to me because I make it so.

Not sure what that strong energy is that has burst onto the scene in the last 24-36 hours, well, yes its a New Moon, but there was also a total Solar Eclipse as the New Moon peaked. This seemingly quiet Full Moon is a pivotal time, whether we can see that or not, JUST KNOW IT. In these silences are such power, growth and development. So, as we flow through our emotionally charged Cancer lunar cycle, we float towards the always beneficial sign of Capricorn during this full moon. Capricorn of course is a time to work on righting things in our lives through karma, cleansing, and perhaps breaking negative chains, but this sign is motivated by the great planet Saturn, who is a world all unto its self.

Now, this doesn’t mean that there won’t be work involved, but if any of you had the last lunar cycle like I had, work is something I am not afraid of. Focus on uplifting, reaching, attaining all those things that up until now, you may just have been apprehensive to try. Go on...you got this and whatever you don’t have, guess who is right there behind you supporting you, THE MOON.

Now the reason I keep sending it back to the Moon is because capricious Cancer is ruled by not a planet, but rather the Moon. So yes, this lunar cycle the Moon will be dripping her divinely fabulous power upon us, if we are ready and waiting to accept. Cancer is a time for love, tenacity, and that emotive side of ourselves we try to hide. Be open, leap, head first, into a time when great strides can be made at becoming the evolved self that is waiting to take center stage in our lives.

My personal focus this cycle will be assimilating the cycles and rhythms that are me and the universe into my every moment's practice. Not just sort of recognizing something AFTER THE FACT, but rather walking right into a place knowing its a part of the cycle that is me. This full moon that will include the Summer Solstice is already in FULL EFFECT MODE. Things are coming from all corners of who we are. Stand firm, see the entities, situations, people even come towards you, but don’t flinch. Know the discomfort, awkwardness, un-”boxable” emotions, then settle into them. Understand that on the other side of breakdowns are breakthroughs. Spoken from a place of actually having experienced this one earlier this week. A wise woman I know recently told me to learn to look at discomfort differently. Do not view it as discomfort, just another way of being. Even at the time I didn’t quite understand, but now on the other side of my own emotional breaking point, I see what she meant, wholeheartedly.

This full moon period we can look to the planet Jupiter to push us to new heights in ourselves and in our relationships with everything around us. Think evolution and recognize that its not linear or even measurable sometimes according to our humanly standards, its moving forward closer to the us we should be. Another dawning of a Lunar Cycle. This time we welcome the highly energetic Gemini Cycle. This sign represents those twins, that fabulous power of change, and all new endeavors that you can think of. With this cycle, let us focus our attention on journeys and our role as travelers. And not just physical travelers, more of the spiritual kind. Think of where are you in your journey, where you have come from, and where are you going?

Pay close attention to the duality that exists within, do not ignore either side, strive for balance, but understand the need to work towards that balance, and the lessons that are necessary from the sometimes IMBALANCE. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, that Great Messenger, who stands on our paths to give us information we would otherwise miss. Many of you may know that I have recently returned from China and the quake epicenter was only a few short hours away from where my home was for almost the past year. When it came time to decide to leave, I, like most, felt the wave of doubt, fear, and questioning descend, but empowered by my community of journeyers and my relationship with the divine, I said, well its time and I shall not question, look fear and doubt in the face and move forward anyway, knowing all I need will be provided.

So as the ground shook I was making my way down after climbing the Great Wall triumphantly. Having looked upon Earth from a different perspective and seen, its massiveness, its beauty, its serenity and the reason we need to cherish it and ourselves in the process.

Know, WE MAKE OUR LIVES, each and every moment. Believe in yourself, your abilities, your love, and your power. All things are POSSIBLE....

This Full Moon will be such a plethora of culminating energy. As we travel through a cycle (Taurus Lunar Cycle) that sculpts the Creator within, this phase of the moon may challenge us. Be not weary or doubtful, all of our dreams will come to fruition, but we must believe that WE have the power to do that. Not an outside source, not an enlightened guru, us, simply, marvely, truly US.

Some of the intensity may on the surface seem to come from Scorpio (the sign this Full Moon falls under), one of the known fierce characters, but its ruler, Pluto, offers more empowering notions to grasp. Pluto's gifts to us offer true change, not that feel good in the movies change, but concrete, lesson filled, life altering change, the push in the direction we always need when we may be apt to accept ordinary, rather than push through for extraordinary in ourselves.

This Lunar Cycle is already bubbling up like champagne, about to pop. It's something I want, but also need to brace myself for it, or else when it explodes I may not be ready. This cycle ruled by Taurus and more importantly Mother Venus is a time to embrace forces of creation and action they we are. Venus blesses us with not just beauty, but the reality that yes can, yes we should, and yes we must. Talk about a ripe time for just about everything. Capture and saturate yourself with thoughts of abundance, creation, fruition, and success.

Particularly this cycle I will focus on my creator self, that all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all forgiving self that dwells just below the surface, but chooses when she wants to make an appearance. I have now realized that it is all a choice, each moment, each thought, each emotion, each acceptance, is a choice. And, I determine how everything plays out. Easily said, right. But looking life into its eyes, feeling the surges of power, dishing out solutions, and seeing results is what its all about.

Time to "Take it There!"

In furthering the warrior cycle we are immersed in, I challenge us all (that’s right, me included) to know that face of this warrior, accept the path we walk and yes, allow the transformation to be completed. And what better time than now, A FULL MOON to do this. A Full Moon is a peak time to work power, and not power in an external sense, but power internally, a place we shy away from for various reasons. The Full Moon can be seen as the concept Ripeness. During Full Moons there is increase in all sorts of energies and things occurring. And yes, there are many things one can invoke during this time, but know that the knowledge of the divine is great and if there is even a tinge of untruth, things put forth may not come to fruition as hoped. Be honest, be humble, be bold, all at the same time when evoking Full Moon energy.

This Full Moon ruled by Scorpio and more importantly its ruling planet, Pluto, is one of Transmutation, Transformation and Reconstruction. In order to transform, we all must make space. It is not an overnight, fast food, instant gratification process, its work, but work that includes awe inspiring components, if we are open to “taking it there”. For me, I have gained a greater understanding of the warrior energy I carry, now, I must give up the control and allow the completion to steps I have taken a while ago to manifest. Gone are the days of me giving and taking, I submit, wholeheartedly, without reservation. So, think about where are you in any processes of Transmutation, Transformation or Reconstruction. How will you proceed from this point on? And, what can you do, or not do, to usher it in graciously?

New Beginnings

Begin at the beginning, go on to the middle and then continue to the end. Seemingly easy steps, right, but inside this Mars ruled cycle, by now, for most of us, things have turned upside down. Well, this Waxing time can be that beginning, AGAIN. That is the beauty of life, each day is a new one and we are challenged to live it. So, let’s be about the business of living. We burst onto this warrior cycle strong and empowered, now there have been obstacles, but know they serve a purpose, mainly to test if we believe what we know (I suspect).

This particular waxing cycle is a time to plant those seeds we want to harvest before the next lunar cycle, so focus on a big, little, or continuous situation, anything that you want to begin again. I once read that humans are the only animals that continue to punish themselves for things over and over again. Learn to recognize that things gone wrong are a lesson that if not in our paths would hinder us from growing, progressing, and evolving. I know, a tall order when life is throwing a curve ball very fast at you and you don’t even have a bat.

So, be thankful during this waxing time when the moon in cancer, which is ruled by the moon. Pull her on ever nurturing, ever loving energy. That’s right, a line for a 70’s iconic movie. However, now that the nostalgia is gone for some of us, let’s get down to business. This new lunar cycle, in Aries, is ruled by that strong, persistent, and powerful planet Mars. So yes, we must make room for the warrior in ourselves. Yet, this wading in warrior’s waters may be a new trek for us. I say to us all to consider; What is a warrior? Challenge your concept of it! See all the dimensions of this part of yourself. The strategist, the patient, the compassionate, the protector, the intelligent, all of these combined are the warrior that is within. Do not limit your the increase in passion during this cycle, rather direct it to places you have rarely gone. Know the energy of warrior speaks of justness to others, but more importantly yourself.

Aries, represents the infant, capture all the wonderment, hyper-absorption, pure open-ness of an infant. See the warrior with in for the first time, be accepting of the paths you never dared take before now. Forge past personal barriers. Know that the best warriors were at their hearts an amalgamation of love, persistence & strength.

This cycle for me, will take an excursion on my warriorship. What is my journey about, where do I need it to take me, how can I transmute my concept of it, all the while developing its presence in my daily life. And not the harsh warrior, the one that uses all parts of me to overcome things.

Well we have made it, to the end of what I know is going to be a cycle that will have ripples for a while to come. As the moon wanes, just reflect, think, how deep did you go? What were the things you learned? Did you celebrate any of the new lessons you have experienced? Looking back to move on forward, that’s what this Waning cycle should be about. This full moon has already showed it’s head to be a time when emphasis should be on those hidden things you just... can’t... quite grasp. The dawning of the moon’s fullness and the season change intersecting, is not an accident or a game. Use the natural earth energy that exists in this time of change to really just let go and do the things you always wanted to, but were afraid to. Throw yourself back fearlessly, knowing that spirit is the ultimate catcher. Yes, its spring, everything looks new, fresh, go on out, intake all that is there with every one of your senses. You there with me, in the beauty of lighter colors and warmer nights, well, remember we are still in that depth pushing cycle of Pisces, so, know that with all of this new-ness and sunshine, watch out for things that you may be trying to suppress, they might have a way of popping up on ya, because Pisces is just like that.

This full moon my focus will be attraction and not the connotative version, but rather that more intentional portion of attraction, you know where we bring (attract) what it is we may see as ourselves or further yet what it is we may need at the time. How do I consciously or unconsciously attract things, people, and events into my life and why? I know big questions, but there are answers, why else the question? A message I got from meditation that might be helpful is that we can heal more when we first sure up ourselves (making sure we ourselves are healed) then ask for more in order to give more. Hope that makes sense. My asking the bigger, more challenging questions, puts me on a different path than before, one that will allow me more healing, more understanding and eventually more assisting. This full moon is in Libra (Venus ruled), a very balanced and fair sign, full of order and harmony. Call upon that harmony when those murky waters run to close for comfort, but trudge forward anyway, knowing whatever is on the other side is a benefit in some shape or form.
